Privacy Policy
Mauborgne is an authenticator app published by Peach State Technologies ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use Mauborgne and the services that go with it, including the Mauborgne apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and Windows, Cloud Backup and Sync, and the Customer Portal at customer.peachstatetechnologies.com.
The short version. We do not share your data with anyone. We collect your email address and use it only to contact you as our customer. We also collect usage and diagnostic telemetry about how the app is used and how it performs, solely to operate and improve it. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you beyond your use of Mauborgne itself.
1. Information we collect
- Email address and account details. When you sign up for or sign in to a Cloud Backup subscription, we collect your email address and, if you provide them, your name and company name. If you sign in with Google, Microsoft, GitHub or Apple, we receive the identifier and email address (which may be an Apple private-relay address) those providers share with us. We do not receive your provider password.
- Subscription information. We record which subscription you hold and its dates. If you subscribe through the App Store, we receive Apple's transaction identifiers and renewal status so we can give you access. We do not receive your Apple payment card details. If you subscribe on our website, payment is handled by our payment processor, Square; we do not store full card numbers.
- Your one-time-code data stays on your device. The accounts, secrets and codes in Mauborgne are stored on your device, encrypted with a key protected by Face ID, Touch ID, your device passcode or the equivalent on your platform. We cannot see them.
- Cloud Backup content (optional). If you turn on Cloud Backup or Sync, your vault is encrypted on your device with a password that only you know before it is uploaded. We store the encrypted data but cannot read it, and we cannot recover it if you forget your password.
- Technical information. Our servers process your IP address and request metadata to deliver the service and protect it from abuse. Server logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted.
- App diagnostics and usage telemetry. To keep Mauborgne reliable and to fix problems, the app sends telemetry to our own servers (OpenTelemetry). Telemetry is linked to your account where you have one:
- Individual plans: your Customer Name, Customer ID and email address (if available), from our customer records.
- Team plans: the Contact Name, Contact ID and email address of the team member using the app, instead of the customer's.
- All users, including those with no plan: the app build ID and version; operating system name and version; device manufacturer and model; an installation ID; and a randomly generated session ID. On iPhone and iPad the installation ID is the vendor identifier Apple assigns to our apps on your device; on Android it is the Android ID your device assigns to our app; on Windows and Mac it is a random identifier created when the app first runs. These identifiers are shared by none of the other developers' apps, are not advertising identifiers, and change if you uninstall (iOS) or reset your device (Android). We use them only to tell installations apart in our own diagnostics.
- What we record: app lifecycle changes (opening, moving to the background, returning to the foreground, closing); when screens, dialogs and windows open and close; where on the screen you tap, and which buttons and controls you use (never the codes, secrets, issuers or account names in your vault); HTTP requests the app makes, with their timing and status; performance problems such as slow screen rendering or slow startup; and errors and crashes, including the error type, message and stack trace, linked to the actions that led to them. Error messages and stack traces are checked so they do not include vault contents.
- Retention: raw trace data is kept for 14 days, raw log data for 30 days, and aggregated metrics, which are not linked to a person or device, for 90 days.
We do not collect: your contacts, location, photos, or advertising identifiers, and we never collect the contents of your vault (secrets, codes, issuers or account names) in telemetry. The camera is used only on your device to scan QR codes; images are not uploaded.
2. How we use your information
- We use your email address only to contact you as a customer: for example receipts, renewal and billing notices, security notices, and replies to your support requests.
- We use diagnostics and usage telemetry only to operate, debug and improve Mauborgne (for example to find the cause of a crash). We do not use it for advertising.
- We use subscription and account information to provide, renew and secure your access to Cloud Backup and Sync.
- We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or marketing to third parties.
3. Sharing
We do not share, sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We use a small number of service providers who process data only on our behalf and only to run the service: Cloudflare (hosting of the backup service and website), Square (card payments on our website), and Apple (App Store purchases and Sign in with Apple). We may disclose information if required by law, and only to the extent required.
4. Tracking
Beyond the usage and diagnostic telemetry described in section 1, which covers only your use of Mauborgne, we do not track you. Mauborgne does not track you across other companies' apps or websites and contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. Telemetry is collected and stored by us, and is never shared with or sold to anyone. The installation ID and session ID identify an app installation to us only; they are not advertising identifiers and cannot be used to recognise you on other developers' apps or sites.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep telemetry for the periods listed in section 1. We keep account and subscription information while your account is active and as long as needed for legal, tax and accounting obligations. You can delete your account and all Cloud Backup data from within the app (Cloud Backup > Delete account) or by contacting us at [email protected]. Deleting your account removes your encrypted backups and your contact information from our systems (telemetry ages out on the schedule above), except records we must keep by law. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device. Cancelling an App Store subscription is done in your Apple ID settings.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Vault data is encrypted on your device; the key is kept in the device's secure hardware (Secure Enclave or equivalent) where available and is released only after you authenticate. Cloud Backup uses the OPAQUE password protocol so your backup password is never sent to us.
7. Children
Mauborgne is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to its processing. Contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal information.
9. International transfers
Our services are operated from the United States and use Cloudflare's global network. If you use them from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States.
10. Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will notify customers by email.
